Business Connect release notes – 18 October 2023
Our release on 18 October 2023 included the following changes.
On this page
Business Connect platform
New
Trading Standards forms published
Customers are now able to apply to become accredited by MBIE Trading Standards under the Weights and Measures Act to test weighing and measuring instruments. It is also for existing Accredited Persons to maintain, amend an existing accreditation, add or remove categories or people.
Signpost to the right form
Customers are now ‘directed’ on the Business Connect landing page to the service they want to access. By clicking a link on an external website, a deep link sets up the pathway for a ‘call for action notification banner’ to display on the dashboard, once a customer has logged into or created a new account for Business Connect. This saves them time searching for it among other services on the platform, which may become overwhelming as more and more services are added.
Improvements
Alert for pre-populated renewal
Those customers returning to the platform to submit a renewal application will now see an alert banner if they start a new application to let them know their pre-populated draft is waiting for them. This will help customers to understand they can reuse the information they supplied last time and save time.
Change to legislation
Those customers applying for an alcohol licence will now see that the time for objectors to make an objection to an application has been extended from 15 to 25 working days. The legislation was amended at the end of August.
Mobile resizing improvements
Those customers using Business Connect on mobile will have a better experience with UI resizing improvements for accordions and tables. Headings and content are now fully visible and resizing correctly.
Filters for services on the Dashboard now more accessible
Customers are now able to use the Dashboard filtering function without any barriers when NVDA screen reader is enabled.
No reminders for deregistered companies
Customers whose company has been removed from the Companies Register will no longer receive irrelevant reminders about the expiry or renewal of a registration or licence.
Business Connect will now be calling the NZBN API to check the business's trading status before sending a renewal notification for their soon due to expire applications.
Declaration content update
Declaration text have been updated so customers are aware that on selecting the declaration, they are accepting the terms and conditions of the application.
